Developed in Japan, this 26/1 BD TOP Surf Knit & Rib is a double-faced knit fabric made from 100% cotton.
The “BD” yarn refers to a distinctive open-end spun yarn, characterized by its naturally voluminous structure, soft hand feel, and slightly dry, rugged surface.
Open-end spinning has long been associated with classic American casual wear, giving the fabric an authentic American vintage character.
A key feature of this fabric is the contrast between its two surfaces. The face is specially knitted to create a pronounced three-dimensional grid texture, adding depth, structure, and a distinctive vintage appearance reminiscent of old-school American athletic wear and vintage knitwear.
The reverse side features a soft ribbed construction,
providing a smoother and more comfortable touch against the skin while maintaining the natural flexibility of knitted fabric.
By combining a rugged, dimensional exterior with a soft and comfortable interior,
